If you have had problems with your XBox (and the first series had major problems with overheating) Microsoft has extended their warranty. This means that most XBoxes can be sent in for repairs just by following the instructions on their website and repaired/replaced for free.
In the battle of the marketplace for computer game dominance, Microsoft has become protective of their reputation in making a quality product. And if a $500 unit breaks down in less than 2 years, what are the chances you'd be willing to waste more money on a new series?
We had an XBox in the house that was a victim of constant teenage use. We tried to repair the unit, but could not do so locally. After learning about the warranty program we learned that Microsoft would also reimburse any attempt at fixing the unit with a valid receipt. Now I know Microsoft makes more money in the games and accesories that are purchased for the unit, so it would only stand to reason that they want their units up and running. We went through the steps and now the unit is being returned fixed and at their cost.
Now...the part time job. I received an email saying that the unit was to be delivered today. But it also stated that someone has to be home to sign for it. I was informed to be home between the hours of 8am and 7 PM for delivery. Nothing like pinpointing a specific time frame, huh? So... all you crafty entrepreneurs here's a simple gig (even advertise it on CraigsList), Package and Plumber Sitting. You just come over to someone's home or apartment and do the waiting for them. Charge $7-10 and hour, watch TV and raid the fridge. What a gig! Time is money.
Just a thought!
