It's Magic Jack! May 28, 2008 5:54:02 GMT -5

Being the King of As Seen on TV, I was sucked into the pitch of free long distance. With a kid 13 hours away and daily phone call$$$, free phone anything perks my ears.
Magic Jack plugs into your computer (USB port) and as long as you have
a broadband connection you get (almost) free phone service with...
Voice Mail... all included.
Cost is $40 for the unit (which includes first year of service which starts with
a one month free trial). And then $19.95 a year after that! $60 for the first
2 years of service? I have paid 3x that a month for personal and professional calls.
I am in the first week of the trial and the only hitch so far is having to add the
area code to all the numbers I call...long distance and local alike...
a small task for cheap phone service, but there is quick dial feature for numbers
you dial regularly.
After the trial, I don't know how I am going to ask ATT/SBC to dump my
phone service and just charge me for DSL.
Sound quality is very good. And I have two phone plugs going into a dual plug
into the Magic Jack (one plug for the phone by the computer and one to the
cordless station which connects to 3 phones around the house).
So in effect I have 4 phones working off of Magic Jack.
There is 911 service included. And a computer screen can pop up with
quick dial links, 411 and links to the Weather, Yahoo, Google and AOL.
Now if it would just link www.creativetalentworkshop.com.
Happy so far.
After 30 days. I'll report back, Yay or Nay!
