In the past 20 years since I started the Creative Talent Workshop I have heard 100x the amount of people with plans to START a talent agency than those who have actually attempted to start one. Before you want to start one here are a few things to consider: 1. Do you have a talent pool of over 50 - 200 pool? 2. Can you offer these people an exclusive contract? 3. Do you have the money for a talent book, yellow page ad and office space? 4. Can you conduct auditions and look sees from your space? 5. Can you convince your talent pool to keep their marketing materials current?
Easy as that!
Good luck with your agency. And remember if you fail within 6 months you will have joined 100 other agencies in the area.
Professional agents can NOT teach classes, talent counselors can. Know the difference!
