I found Creative Talent back in February when my contract ended with my management. I've been wondering since, do I need a resume, agent, experience, ect. in order to take classes at Creative Talent?
I have several more questions that I can't remember at the moment and I'll probably use this topic for them, if that's ok.
Thank you. ^^

You can join the Creative Talent Workshop at anytime. We prefer all of our talent to be signed with an agent. If they are not under contract, we will find the best one for them. So many talent sign with an agent and then sit by the phone. We have the tools to help market them beyond what their agent can or will do for them. When you join the Creative Talent Workshop, we will... Help you find, locate and sign with the right agent/s Find the right photographer (at YOUR price range!) Help build your marketing. Help build your resume and direct you to the right special skills to work on. Plus... we offer the best acting classes in the area (since 1990)! And much, much more.
The best thing is that we are on call for you! We will try to answer all your questions in a timely fashion. Either by phone, email or now our message board.
As you can see the Creative Talent Workshop is all about the Talent!

You can! The cost of the class is fair. The information is priceless!

Is it still $150? The last time that I checked the website it was. It's not a problem, I'm just wondering. It's a good price. I'm having trouble getting my husband to pay it at the moment. lol

Well to be honest..it's a GREAT price for the information involved. And the fact that your first job will more than pay back the price of the class. Also referrals to the program bring rewards. But... When making the decision to get into this program, it is best that your partner (husband, spouse, life partner) is in agreement on your career. I invite all spouses to participate in the Marketing Class with their partner. It is a legit program and we want to be on the same page with both partners. We want you to share in the experience of goal setting and expectations. Quick story: A young man from Southern Indiana wanted to take the marketing class and plunge full ahead by making professional acting his fulltime career. He brought along his wife (then pregnant in a late term) to the marketing class. He had little experience, but worse he had the wrong expectations about the business. For some reason he thought that he could be a Hollywood movie actor without moving to Hollywood. He thought major motion pictures were filmed in Indiana. Well...in fact some are...as well as KY, Ohio and Illinois. But...he did not have his union card (important in getting cast in legit big budget films) and he had no plans on getting one. I laid it all on the line. And he had a big decision to make. It was worth the cost of the Marketing Class to be told the truth. And whether he was going to turn professional that day, a year later, or ten years later...everything I laid out in the Marketing Class was still going to work for him. I hope you understand that it isn't the cost of the class that should hold you back. It's the committment to your goals that should have you signed up right away. I have been teaching the Marketing Class since 1990. My success rate is high. And my reputation speaks for itself. When you are ready. It will be ready for yoU! The cost of the class is here: www.actindy.com/order

Oh yeah we can definitely pay that. He's fine with it, he has been since I was signed last year. Hopefully this topic will motivate him. lol By the way, I was signed with The Crawford Agency. Have you heard of them? There's a long story behind that. They didn't help me at all.
I know that if I do it that there's a chance that I'll be busy if I get picked for something and I'm fine with that. It's something that I've always wanted to do. I also know that you can't go Hollywood overnight, unless you're extremely lucky. I have goals. One is taking your class. lol

I have another question. I knew I'd use this again. I feel silly asking. >.<
Is financial council available? I ask because we're going to be in a slump soon. After our vacation, which is June 23-27, we're filing bankruptcy. So, we'll barely have money for a while. Do you know of anyone who helps with that sort of thing? Someone who can help us budget while we go through that? I know that acting is very expensive. I really want to act very badly and I really don't want our finances to get in the way of it. Even my family, who have enough to support a little bit, don't care to support my acting. They shrug it off like I'm speaking a foreign language.
If you're curious, this is what happened. We got into a minor accident last summer and it was our fault, unfortunately. Well, we didn't have car insurance, so now we owe $30,000. Of course there's no way we can pay it, so we have no choice but to file bankruptcy. On top of that, he's going to lose his liscense.

I understand your situation. Actors and finances are always creative. But have no fear! There are ways to help you get above your situation. 1. Of course the first is prayer..and give your finances to God. Is God smaller than your problems??? Keep your faith intact. 2. Most parents (and even most friends) will never and I mean EVER support acting as a career! They just don't see it as a viable way to provide for yourself. BUT... Actors have to be salespeople..and the product they are selling is their talent. If an actor can find the self-esteem it takes to market themselves, they can sell any product. That is why most actors and talents have sideline careers. It isn't just for the additional (or primary) income, it is to find sanity outside this crazy business. 3. As for our program, when you refer other talent to The Creative Talent Workshop you are rewarded with free classes and services. Just spread the word! 4. We all make mistakes. Overcoming them is what builds character. But..if you say.."WE'LL NEVER..." you are instilling negativity. Start stressing the POSITIVES in your life! Change your karma and your life changes! Do it!

First of all, I'm so glad you're a Christian, too! It makes me feel even more relieved.
Thanks so much for the advice! I do forget sometimes. It's so hard to keep positive and I have to remind myself.
Good news though. Joel (my husband) explained it to me more. When we file, all of our debt will be cleared. That means that we'll actually have money for acting and more! Plus, we can save for a house. So, it's really a good thing.
Anyway, about the family part. They're so weird about it. They're fine with music and singing, they'll give a pat on the back sometimes. But when I mention acting, they're like "uh ok...?" Maybe being musicians themselves have something to do with it.
I realized that I blabber a lot. Sorry about that. >.<
